Good populace,
We have been watching the weather closely over the last week, and hope this missive finds you well. We are writing with regret to inform you that, due to inclement weather conditions, we must modify our Champions event, which is scheduled for Sunday, October 29. The safety and well-being of all is our top priority and, given the current weather forecast, it would be unwise to proceed with the event as planned.
The weather reports indicate temperatures in the low to mid-30’s as a high – a trend that has continued downward for the last week. While we understand that there is no minimum temperature set out in Corpora to determine when an event is “too cold” we feel these conditions pose significant safety concerns for the populace and combatants, especially when combined with the forecasted wind and precipitation.
We understand the time and effort that the event steward team has invested in preparing for this event, and we share in your disappointment at having to make this decision. We hope you all will join us at Archery School of the Rockies at 5 pm to attend court with His Majesty. He has business with the populace and we wish to gather to recognize those worthy individuals. We will also be holding a potluck dinner, complete with the chili and baked potatoes that were intended for lunch. We will end the evening with Baronial court, as Their Excellencies also wish to recognize individuals in the Barony.
We are actively exploring options to reschedule the Champions events for a later date when the weather is more favorable, and we will keep you updated on any developments.
Thank you for your understanding, and please stay safe. Weather in Colorado is a fickle beast, and ever changing. We are making the best decision we can with the information we have.
Yours in Service to the Dream,
Geoffrey Bourre, Seneschal
Turlough and Adelaisa, Barun and Baronessa
