Greetings Glorious Outlands!
Two years have passed us by as the ever-flowing stream, and my warrant for Kingdom Earl Marshal draws to its end. It has been a time of significant rebuilding and restructuring, and the four goals and the great ambition outlined in the State of the Marshalate reports have been pursued. But it is time to find a new officer as I move on to serve the Kingdom in other ways.
Under the direction of our new Society Earl Marshal, we will be splitting the office to bring us to parity with the rest of Society. We will be creating a Kingdom Armored Combat Deputy, to serve under the new Kingdom Earl Marshal. This will create the following job descriptions for the positions:
For The Kingdom Armored Combat Deputy:
“To meet Society Standards in the warranting of Martial Officers both at the Kingdom and Local level”
The Kingdom Armored Combat Marshal will be responsible for working in cooperation with the Kingdom Waiver Deputy to ensure local groups with Armored Combat Activities maintain an up-to-date warrant for an Armored Combat Officer (often the Local Knight Marshal).
“To Create The Outlands Addendums”
The Kingdom Armored Combat Marshal will be responsible for working with the Kingdom Earl marshal to maintain and update the Outlands Addendum for Armored Combat as necessary.
“To Restore our Authorizing Processes to good standing with Society and to ensure safeguards to keep the Authorization Process in such standing”
The Kingdom Armored Combat Marshal will be responsible for working with the office of the Mistress of the Lists to ensure the continued database and enforcement of proper authorizations for Armored Combat including the testing and expansion of the soon to be implemented web-based portal.
“To establish a repeatable system for officer reporting to be used for productive data analysis and record keeping”
The Kingdom Armored Combat Marshal will be responsible for ensuring Local group Armored Combat Officers report monthly and will be responsible for reporting to the Society Armored Combat Deputy and Kingdom Earl Marshal.
For the Kingdom Earl Marshal:
“To meet Society Standards in the warranting of Martial Officers both at the Kingdom and Local level”
The Kingdom Earl Marshal will be responsible for working with their Kingdom Level Deputies (Armored, Rapier, Equestrian, MOL, and Archery) to ensure proper warranting meets Society Standards. The Kingdom Earl Marshal is also responsible for ensuring the authorization standards and good standing of Crown Tournament Entrants and is expected to marshal Crown Tournaments during the duration of their warrant. The Kingdom Earl Marshal will share responsibility in the selection of Kingdom Level Martial Officers and will be required to review the warranting of Local Level Martial officers.
“To Create The Outlands Addendums”
The Kingdom Earl Marshal will be responsible for working with their Kingdom Level Deputies to maintain The Outlands Addendums.
“To Restore our Authorizing Processes to good standing with Society and to ensure safeguards to keep the Authorization Process in such standing”
The Kingdom Earl Marshal will be responsible for working with their Kingdom level Deputies and the office of the Webminister to maintain the authorization database and enforce authorization standards for all martial disciplines, including the testing and expansion of the soon to be implemented web-based portal. The Kingdom Earl Marshal will be responsible for the review of revocation of authorizations of all Martial Disciplines.
“To establish a repeatable system for officer reporting to be used for productive data analysis and record keeping”
The Kingdom Earl Marshal will be responsible for quarterly reporting of the state of Kingdom martial activity to Society and to the Kingdom Marshalate. The Kingdom Earl marshal will be responsible for the revocation of warrants for Local and Kingdom level Martial Officers failing to report.
Both positions should approach their roles with the following ambition in mind:
“To create a sustainable and consistent Marshalate that creates ease of use for Martial Officers and participants while still maintaining high standards of excellence and adherence to Society Guidelines.”
